Children’s town of professions opened its gates in Košice on Friday 01.12.2017.
The town is open until 30.10.2017 and is situated in shopping centre Aupark in Košice. The exposition represents children’s town of professions as an educational program for elementary school children aged from 6 to 15 years. The author of exposition and the chairman of association responsible for the exhibition is Ing. Marcela Kulifajová.
In respect of the educational project, children have opportunity to get familiar with various forms of employment in the working world of adults. Going though specific jobs, they are learning by practice about various professions presented by respective companies. Children find out how real work looks like, they will see behind the scenes of vocation schools, jobs and try the work of a salesman, a logistician, a nurse, a cook, and a construction worker.
The project also includes career counselling for elementary school children, presentations of vacation schools and many more supporting events, e.g. interactive workshops, discussions, creative workshops for children and parents. Town of professions offers ideal combination of games and education.
In Košice town of professions you can find 9 houses of the respective professions. One of them, representing the construction profession has been arranged by us.
What does our Chemkostav house offer? As soon as we enter, we begin with the most important, which is safety and security on the construction site. We explain the respective safety features and why we need to wear them when moving around the construction site. Next, we show how the building as such is being built, more concretely, the apartment building. From the very first idea, though projects, building foundations and construction, to works inside the flats. We go through all the steps before happy owner receives the keys of his apartment. However, in our house we do not talk only about theory. Children can become a mason, a carpenter, a plumber, a flooring installer and also site manager. Their task is to build a house from available material. House equipment perfectly complements furniture made of DOKA material.
Children’s town of professions is opened daily from 10:00 to 19:00. It is located on the top floor in shopping mall Aupark in Košice, next to the food court.
