Builders at Sea

Representatives of Chemkostav, a. s. Michalovce attended from June 5th to 9th, 2012 the sailing competitions TREND Regatta 2012, held on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, between the city of Split and the islands of Hvar and Vis. There were a total of 21 crew members present from different parts and different economic sectors of Slovak Republic.

As Mr. Milan Dunaj, Vice Chairman of Chemkostav, a.s. Michalovce said:  " We participated  in TREND Regatta races for the second time when we as a company received an invitation also in 2011 from the editors of that weekly business professional magazine. Then it showed to us as a very good opportunity to present the company as well as a space for making the contacts. We have again joined this year, where the company was represented by six-man crew composed of Mr. Milan Dunaj, Mr. Stanislav Janič, Mr. Jozef Hrubý, Mr. Peter Demčák, Matúš Dunaj and our courteous skipper was Mr. Juraj Šacha."

Although, the crew of Chemkostav, a. s. Michalovce was less experienced, for only two of its members previously sailed on the sea, they did not lose in the starting field. Masculine grouping after learning and mastering all actions and the instructions even ranked in one of the exercise sailings fourth place. Overall, people from Michalovce got in its class, 9th place out of 11 crews.

"Our ship was called Nike, and it was a type of keel boat Beneteau First 35 with a main foresail and jib. On its board were two cabins plus universal room that served as the cockpit and also as navigation room and also as sleeping room. Since we spent most of the time on the boat, kitchenette and bathroom was a certainty. " it was mentioned by Mr. Milan Dunaj.

The whole event had its strict daily program. Every morning crews went out to sea and passed exercise sailings. When the race was over they went back to the port, where there was space for relaxing and non-binding meetings. Chemkostav people attracted attention at every step and they could be seen from afar.

"This year we understood it as a great publicity of Chemkostav and right at the initial meeting, we presented ourselves as the easternmost crew of whole regatta. On the boat, we pulled our large corporate flag, which we almost did not fit on the mast. Advertising was also exemplary dressing of the whole crew into a kind of uniform, which consisted of company T-shirt and cap - of course it was also about of our internal discipline." it was said by Mr. Milan Dunaj.
